The discipline

Five constructs, defined plainly enough to be argued with.

Every construct below has a working definition, a set of assessable capabilities, and an explicit limit. If a claim cannot survive being stated this directly, it does not belong in the curriculum.

01

Internal Command

The practised capacity to notice your own state, name it accurately, and remain the author of your next action while that state is still present.

What is assessed

  • Describe an internal state in observable terms rather than diagnostic ones
  • Hold a pause long enough for the actual options to appear
  • Act from a stated intention rather than from momentum

Stated limit

Internal command is not emotional suppression, and it is not a substitute for clinical care. Nothing here treats a mental health condition.
02

Decision Sovereignty

Owning the decisions that are genuinely yours: locating the real choice point, naming the pressures acting on it, and deciding without outsourcing the authorship.

What is assessed

  • Separate the decision from the deadline someone else attached to it
  • Write a decision record that survives later scrutiny
  • Recognise borrowed urgency and price it correctly

Stated limit

Sovereignty is not independence from consequence, obligation, or law. It does not mean every decision is yours to make.
03

Ethical Influence

Persuasion that leaves the other person's agency intact — they can decline, delay, change their mind, or leave, and the relationship survives it.

What is assessed

  • Convert a pressured request into a clean invitation
  • Run an explicit consent check inside a live conversation
  • Notice when your influence has quietly become leverage

Stated limit

This is not sales training, negotiation tradecraft, or a technique for changing an outcome you were told no about.
04

Human Safety Literacy

Recognising common patterns of pressure, escalation, and harm in ordinary settings, and knowing precisely where a non-clinical role stops.

What is assessed

  • Recognise escalation patterns without diagnosing a person
  • State a scope limit out loud, in the moment, without shame
  • Use a referral ladder rather than improvising a rescue

Stated limit

This is emphatically not risk assessment, crisis intervention, safeguarding qualification, or deception detection. We do not teach lie detection and do not believe it can be taught this way.
05

Coherence

The measurable closeness between what a person states they value and what their observable choices show — audited honestly and repaired deliberately.

What is assessed

  • Audit stated versus enacted commitments over a fixed window
  • Design a small, falsifiable repair experiment
  • Report the result truthfully, including when it fails

Stated limit

Coherence is not perfection or moral ranking. A coherence audit is a working instrument, not a character verdict.

How the discipline is taught

Practice first, vocabulary second, claims last.

Each module pairs one live facilitated session with structured practice you run in your own life. Work is assessed against a published rubric by a trained assessor, and every grade can be explained on request.
